Rothwell Heights residents will soon have local access to professionally groomed trails for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, fat-biking and walking.
For the first time, Ski Heritage East is extending its winter trail west to Blair Road. The Trail follows the banks of the Ottawa River on a beautiful, winding route covering some 30 km to Trim Road in the east, with six trailheads along the way providing easy access.
As a non-profit, Ski Heritage East relies on volunteers for trail maintenance and logistics. Operations are funded through donations from users and business sponsors, and support from the City of Ottawa and the National Capital Commission (NCC).
