Barry Padolsky is the founder of Barry Padolsky Associates Inc., an Ottawa based architectural, urban design, and heritage consulting practice founded in 1969.

Mr. Padolsky has written a very interesting essay on the Canadian government’s first comprehensive Master Plan for our City- the Holt Report of 1914.  This remarkable Plan was prepared over 100 years ago, and 46 years before the more widely known Greber Plan of 1950. It was shelved after unveiling and has been largely forgotten.

Researched and written by Mr. Padolsky, the essay and photos highlight several Plan recommendations that resonate now with some of the recent deliberations on public transportation in our City.

We sincerely thank the author for his permission to feature his essay on our web site.
